Monument record: MCC3080 Dark earth, 21 St Peter's Street, Colchester (Element)A layer of dark earth (L11, or L3 in the evaluation phase) directly overlay the Roman contexts on the site at 21 St Peter's Street, Colchester. It was not possible to discern archaeological features cut into the dark earth (L11) that overlay the gravel surface, although it is likely many features were cut whilst this layer was accumulating.

Monument record: MCC3494 9 North Hill, Colchester (Building)Recorded as an 18th century brick-fronted building. A timber-framed survey by Richard Shackle in 2001 (or 2002), however, suggests the front range consists of two structures side by side. To the south is part of a medieval building of about 1450. To the north is a larger 17th century structure.
